Systemizing a Residential Service Business

Role

Founder & Operations Manager

Client
Residential Cleaning Company

The Challenge

As the business grew, operations became increasingly complex. Hiring, scheduling, and service delivery required consistent coordination, and many of the processes initially existed only in the founder’s knowledge rather than in documented systems.

Without clear workflows, scaling the business or transitioning ownership would have been difficult.

The Solution

To stabilize and organize operations, I developed structured systems including:

• Hiring and onboarding workflows for cleaning staff
• Client scheduling and service coordination processes
• Standardized service procedures for employees
• Task ownership systems for daily operations
• Documentation of key operational processes

Results

• Built a service business generating approximately $9,000 per month in recurring revenue
• Successfully managed employees and service scheduling
• Implemented repeatable systems that allowed staff to operate independently
• Created operational documentation that made the business transferable

Outcome

The operational structure allowed the business to be successfully sold and transitioned to a new owner, demonstrating that the systems created were sustainable beyond the founder.

“When I purchased the company, the workflows and documentation she created made the transition far easier than I expected.”
